Rosaceae Japanese Martini
Recipe part of The Japanese Masters Series.
The marzipan-like flavors of the Plum, I Suppose reminded Kayama-san of an “unsweet amaretto, perfect in classics”.
With this in mind, Kayama-san developed a twist on a stirred Martini, inspired by the Rosaceae, or rose family to which plums and peach blossoms belong. The “subtle nuances of the barley koji '' in the spirit are heightened by the addition of sake and houmeishu liquor. While sipping on the drink Kayama-san suggests to “immerse yourself in the world of Rosaceae and witness the peach blossoms reveal themselves as the ice melts.”
